Dear Morgen Mo, The best things about the trip. The train to Lhasa was well worth the problems of trying to get the tickets. The train was immaculately clean, there were even fresh flowers in the toilet and they did not run out of toilet paper for the whole journey! They found the best English speaking assistant on the train and sent her to us to help in any way she could. The scenery was superb and the journey so relaxing that we did not need the oxygen. It was unfortunate that we could not use the dining car when we wanted as the views from there were much better for photos. The other really good thing was our excellent guide who spoke good English, was very knowledgeable and was prepared to be flexible and suggest really good alternatives to plans where things might be difficult. E.g. the visit to a farm in a village. 1. Tibetan New Year. This was an excellent time to go. We saw things that are otherwise not open. We saw everything bedecked with fresh bright prayer flags and were able to observe ceremonies only performed at this time. All the people were also in their best costumes. Although many of the shops and restaurants were closed we saw plenty and had good food. 2. Questionnaire given to the guide. We gave the guide a more detailed questionnaire which I hope he passed on to you. At that time I had more details on me and we all pooled our comments for you. 3. Thank you for all your help. I have learnt a lot from the trip and your help has been very valuable. Having our own driver and guide was so good. The train too was worth all the struggle to get it.
